Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) – Oak Run

What is CERT?  The Florida Community Emergency Response Team Program educates residents about disaster preparedness for hazards.  CERT trains you in basic disaster response skills, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. Using training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.Come join our team here in Oak Run.

We meet every 4th Monday of each month at the Island Club at 11am.  We will gladly answer your questions and inform you how to become certified.

We are under the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Division of Emergency Management.  It’s not hard, but it does take a commitment to train, practice, and participate. Join us to see what you are missing.

Team Leaders:  Chuck Birmes (870) 405-4001 and Larry Pankau (513) 520-1609
